Flower patch thank you...

Hello All and Happy Sunday and whatever you are planning to get up to, sending good wishes your way.

I needed a thank you card for a lovely lady and I know there's been all the excitement of the new Occasionals Catalogue not to mention Sale-A-Bration of course ...! but this time found me returning to a stamp set from the Annual catalogue that I haven't used in ages.

Its the Flower Patch stamp set - a great value set with no less than 19 stamps including 3 associated sentiments, which you can mix and match to make up all kinds of floral designs..

Stampin' Up!
.

and to make your designing easier, no need for fussy cutting either as there is a matching Framelits Dies set - Flower Fair - to go with.. !

Stampin' Up!

Now that is a definite plus in my book

If ever you need inspiration on how to use this stamp set - as with so much these days, Google Images is your go to friend! So many lovely examples to choose from and I based my card on this one by the lovely Kriss Huels and here is my version.

It's a 5 and a 1/2" square format card for a change, using Flirty Flamingo from the 2016 -2018 In-Colours range as my card base. Have indulged in a bit more filling in, but only one propped up flower - as I wanted the banner to take centre stage
Buy Stampin' Up!

My banner is courtesy of a brilliant stamp set so useful for all of sorts of greetings and with a total of 32 stamps to choose from I think you have most things covered.! and with its matching Bunch of Banners Framelit dies - they come bundled as a pack - saving you 10% if the 2 are bought together as a co-ordinating set.

and I just love that I can easily make a matching envelope as Stampin' Up! have obliged with a pack of toning envelope-weight paper available in the same colour ways.. How cool is that

What do you think? I was really pleased how it turned out and am hoping the recipient will like it.

.. and don't forget everyone,  despite my opening words it is Stampin' Up!  Sale-a-Bration time - any combined spend of £45 earns you a free item from the special Sale-a-Bration brochure.

Well this afternoon sees me and a couple of my Stampin' Up! colleagues whiling away the afternoon,  just indulging in some rare free time, stampin', card-making, possibly sorting out potential swaps for their forthcoming trip to Amsterdam for the next Stampin' Up  On Stage meeting.. and me? I shall be working on a certain challenge all about a tin..   but you will have to wait to find out how that goes..

til next time - happy crafting

and a closing thought!..

Flower patch birthday - Autumn colours

hi all and happy Sunday

well with such a lot of lovely challenges about at the moment with Autumn as the theme and everywhere around the colours are just stunnng  as the trees take on that spectacular multi-colour look as the leaves start to drop.

Sad in a way as Summer has well and truly opened the door and left but of course Autumn brings its own special kind of magic.. and over at Stamping Sensations their October challenge is the Colours of Autumn so set to with that in mind.

So with Autumn colours high on the agenda I opted to use Delightful Dijon as my card base with a Very Vanilla topper and chose to use one of the solid leaf shapes from the Flower Patch stamp set as the  basis of my card with some random stamping of one of the  other little fill in stamps. I stamped these in a number of Autumn shades - Delightful Dijon, Old Olive, Tangello Twist, Real Red, Hello Honey to name a few, after masking off the central focal panel.

...and then using the same colours I sponged the middle of the card to take my sentiment - taken from the same stamp set and topped this up with a toning button (albeit retired) tied with some linen thread and finshed the card with a bit of edge sponging.

and inside - thought I would carry on the the Flower Patch theme but his time opted to use the detail stamp for a bit of something extra - and the complimentary sentiment stamp and more sponging  just to finish it all off.  Not quite sure why I had an aberration and went back to green instead of the yellows, golds and reds..  still  puzzling over that one..

but other than that was quite pleased with the final card - what do you think?

Um Sunday again tomorrow - is it my imagination or is time just flying past at the proverbial rate of knots.. Quite frightening when you think about it especially as the 'Jingle all the way' day is only 67 days and counting..!

Now I know the very organised amongst us will be well down their card and present making list, all calm and collected - me,  Miss Lastminute.com - well I guess I am working on the principle of why spoil the habit of a lifetime ! Am afraid me and being organised just do not go hand in hand - note to self and I say it  every  year - start it earlier next time.. !

Happy crafting all -

Happy birthday - flower patch style

hi all

Hope you have had a lovely week. Looking back - the bank holiday wasn't too bad, weather-wise where we are and can proudly say the garden is looking a little more tidier as a result as managed to spend a fair bit of time out there, pottering as you do.

.. and with that lot out of the way, this weekend saw me back in my little crafting corner to make a couple of birthday cards.

Well in keeping with spring colours and with particular homage to daffodils which seem to be everywhere at the moment I chose to use the Flower Patch Stamp Set and matching Flower Fair Framelit Dies, available as a bundled item with a saving of 15% -

Coupled with toning pieces of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series paper stack.  I ended up with two different cards but on a similar theme - and not just in toning colours!

Flower Fair All ablloom
Pages 154 and 155 of the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue shows how to use this stamp set with the so effective 2-step technique - which is what I used for my flowers and leaves here -

and using the magnetic platform for the Big Shot made light work of positioning the dies for accurate cutting of the stamped images. (brilliant value as it's included as one of the items featured in this week's specials!)

Have to admit the letters were existing die-cuts of my own, as is the diamante '50' - and am trying to make a conscious effort to use up my various all sorts supplies - but,  like a lot of us am sure - I think it is going to take me a fair bit of time.

I chose differing 'Happy Birthday' sentiments,  mounting one banner style, (the Banner Dies set are another of this week's special deals!) just for the look I wanted, and was really pleased with the end results for both.

For the inside of my cards,  I matted a pieced of Whisper White card stock and just opted for a few copies of one of  the smaller detail flower from the set,  randomly stamped down one side.
