Glimmer snowflakes meets Gorgeous grunge topped vellum and some..!

Hi all

and happy Sunday everyone. I sincerely hope that any little visitors you may have had last night were the nice (and not the naughty!)  kind.

well fresh from yesterday's craft class, I came home with Christmas cards still an agenda item  so carried on and made a couple more, and here's one of them.

Inspired by the current sketch #no 210 over at  Freshly made sketches
I opted to flip the design to landscape.

but as am still having trouble with operating a camera  my photograph  is not perfect by any manner of means but the best I could manage... Must really brush up on my photography skills - thanks so much Michelle for the recent hints and tips - could not have come at a better time! I so  so needed them!

Sassy Salutations

A vellum topper on some Pool Party card stock (yes.. another outing for my Home for Christmas card stock pack.!) Just love this and have used so much of it for my 'C-word' cards this year!  Some gorgeous snowflakes punched from the absolute Wow that is Stampin' Up!'s Silver glimmer card.. In my book this is foolproof glittering  without the pain of it ending up everywhere but where you want it!

I stamped a couple of 'renditions' of Gorgeous Grunge and my 'Merry Christmas' using  White craft ink on the Pool Party card stock first - left it for absolutely ages to make sure it was completely dry - then using my Stamp-a-majig I used the same stamps again, but this time in Metallic Silver, on top of the vellum, but slightly offset to hopefully give a hint of a white shadow effect below, which hopefully you can just make out!

I threaded my snowflakes on to some silver wire and suspended the 3 tiny stars, courtesy of the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack, below them

I love how it turned out  and hope you do too.

Well, somewhat spurred on by today's venture into all things photographic will endeavour to repeat the process tomorrow for a couple of other items from the craft class,  if I can.

til next time - and in case you are wondering or are at all concerned -  I did read this somewhere and am sure it must be true so will leave you with this thought

'A cluttered desk is a sign of genius'

well all I can say is,  mine is very cluttered!

bye til next time

Night of Navy means Happy First Anniversary

hi all

well, with the clutter still on my desk from my last foray into the happy world that is Stampin' up! I was able to 'CASE' my own last card as an idea for an anniversary one for a  colleague - I guess that is permissible!

(you will be spared the 'what's on my desk, Wednesday ' chaos - er sorry,  artistic arrangement - I would be far too embarrassed to preserve said mess for posterity!)

but back to the card ..It just so happens the wedding colours in question had included a dark blue so Stampin' Up!'s Night of Navy was just perfect.
Flower shop

I opted for just a  simple matted layer of Very Vanilla stamped with a mix of of toning Flower Shop and Petite Petals - and a sprinkling of my beloved,  must have, Gorgeous Grunge background.

Flower shop

Although I have used a retired stamp for the banner-like sentiment, of course anything will work. I  hand-cut it with Stampin' Up!'s super sharp paper snips and finished it off with a bit more sponging and a little toning candy dot to indicate it is their first anniversary.. and here's to many more of them!

This week at work we have been starting our countdown to preparation for the various projects which we will be running over the  Christmas and New year holidays. This has certainly focused me somewhat with essentially realising I only have just a few weekends left for shopping and even less for my Christmas makes..

with that rather worrying thought  - well to me at least..- will leave you til next time.
very best wishes

Christmas - well, at least I have started!

hi all

well, fresh from a lovely day at a crafting class yesterday, I can now honestly say I have at least started on my Christmas makes!

and with further inspiration from the lovely Jessica over at InkiitupwithJessica with her Holiday edition of her One Sheet Wonder class,  I feel I am at least further forward than I was last week.!

... and with the current challenge over at Less is More - for non traditional Christmas, and not to use red or green - well I just had to have a go! So went  with shades of blues instead! Night of Navy, Pacific Point and Marina Mist to be precise!

and Addicted to Stamps and More  current CAS challenge - here we can create anything just as long as it's clean and simple!  Just Hope this fits the bill then!

gorgeous grunge

a sponged, matted layer of Whisper White with a bit of background stamping courtesy of 'Gorgeous grunge' coupled with the middle sized snowflake from Endless Wishes and 3 stamped and punched mosaics to finish it off.

good greetings

The sentiment is from the recent promotional set Good Greetings and for once,  although not quite a 'card in a few minutes' it came together far more quickly than my usual endeavours with stamps and inks! Wheee!

I know this is literally only the beginning of November, but with the class just this last weekend,  day 1 of a 2 day sewing class next Saturday, the NEC for their Christmas show on Sunday,  the following Saturday finds me at a course in Nottingham to make an embroidered organza waterfall panel  - am not sure I haven't bitten of more than I can chew here.!

Then of course not forgetting the Stampin' Up! UK tours about to kick off this month - and have not given a thought to swaps as yet!

At this rate - I really shall be looking forward to December and a rest.,  notwithstanding all my, as yet unfinished Christmas makes,  of course!

Until next time - do have a lovely week.
