Well its my niece-in-law's birthday to day and she has just started cooking up a storm in the cupcake dept.. She did make a fabby large one for Mummie's birthday in April, so I thought I would return the favour, but mine were of the card, paper and ink variety!
These Scallop tag closure cards are so popular at the moment and as is my won't, I usually get on the bandwagon, way after everyone else and probably just as some people are getting off. ... and am sure these will prove to be no exception!
but here's my card
I used the Fresh prints paper stack for my colour scheme of Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Real Red and Crumb Cake (very apt in circumstances!) and came up with this.
I just love these papers, especially the ones I used for said cupcakes! They are all double sided and these two could not be better matched, in my book, even down to what looks like cherry sprinkles. What do you think?
and inside..
The brilliant 'cupcake' sentiment, which I popped up on dimensionals, and the matching 'Happy birthday' stamps from the 'Create-a-cupcake' stamp set, I was trying to hide them both, so they couldn't be seen before it was opened, but changed my mind and this was the result.
I stamped the little heart from the same set, in the toning colours, did a bit of hand colouring with my marker pens on some fussy-cut candles from another of my current birthday 'staples' - the Cycle celebration stamp set. Then followed this up with the tiny rhinestones which I dotted about here and there.
and the scallop-tag-topper-closure was so much easier than I thought as the punch does all the hard work so you don't have too.
just take a look here - one of the many You Tube videos explaining how its all done!

Have got a house visitor this weekend, Mummie..
We got a real shock today and pardon the pun here, to get a call from her to say her house had had a lightning strike to the TV aerial during a freak storm this afternoon, and it has done serious damage to the electrics. An absolutely enormous bang, real flash of light and basically it has blown the sockets, fried the TV's, the cabling, her phone line/internet, some amazing scorch marks where the spikes have leapt from the TV's to the wall coverings.. all in all a bit of a mess. Luckily she is Ok, and safe, and as I keep saying the rest is replaceable and we can buy new ones, but Mummie's, you can't!
uhm.. the next time we have a storm? am seriously contemplating unplugging everything!
til next time - take care
