well fresh from my class yesterday - and still with the 2013-2015 In-Colours to hand - by that I mean they were still in my bag and I hadn't emptied it, so didn't have far to go in search of supplies.!
So today was the turn of Baked Brown sugar to strut its stuff.
Actually I think on reflection I may have mis-judged it - as had hardly used it at all if am honest.. Hands up - anyone who confesses to be in the same boat?
But now I have, am thinking I should really have made more use of it a lot sooner.
Today's card is a good luck card for my a friend's grand-daughter and partner who are just setting up their first home together. I understand paint pots, packing cases and healthy debates on colour schemes are currently the order of the day!
For their 'Happy house' card - basically I have very little in the way of 'houses' .so had to make use of an already retired set from the 2014 Autumn/Winter catalogue. It was the 'Holiday Home' stamp set, - but the about to retire 'hostess set' - Life's Adventure - has a lovely 'Welcome' stamp which would have worked just as well.
This is what I came up with - and am having a slight giggle as now I look at it again it seems to me the street lamp is getting in on the act and almost jigging in tune, what do you think? (That will teach me to take care when adding a polymer stamp to a stamp block! - Makes mental note!)
Using just Whisper White as my base, with Baked Brown Sugar as a layer for my matted centre panel I opted to just stamp a few copies of the same house any which way, to make a background, then repeated 3 further copies for the focus panel. I then decided to fussy cut one more for the middle which I propped up on some dimensionals to add a bit of depth.
But I couldn't leave it without any other pop of colour though, so stamped the little hearts from the same set in Strawberry slush.
I used it again for my banner sentiment 'Good for you' from the Banner Greetings Hostess set which is also about to bow out.
I matted this onto some more of the white card stock, and a final matt of Strawberry Slush.
To finish I added a little bit of bling, courtesy of my favourite rhinestones, and those, coupled with my 'dancing' streetlight and it was done.
I hope they like it.

I always get very excited about new colours and want to get cracking with them straight away so my hand is not up on this one Jan! I love the little street of houses you've created here, complete with dancing street lamp (that would definitely liven things up!) Vicky x
