Beautiful you -

hello all

and hope you've had a  lovely week.

Well, you know me, always late to the party so decided it was high time  I  finally inked up some of the stamps in the fabulous  'Beautiful You' Stamp set..  Yeah - why did I wait so long am wondering....!"

It's a really lovely collection of 13  stamps which include line drawings and  artistic elements ideally suited to water-colouring and delightful sentiments to complement them..

Beautiful You

For my card I used Soft Suede as my card base and a toning sheet from the 'Falling in Love' Designer Series Paper pack, for the topper.

I  stamped one of the designs on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock, using the Jet Black Stazon ink as I was going to be water-colouring it and did not want the image to bleed into the paper.

Then set to with my aqua painters,  my stamp pads  and  indulged myself in a spot of  therapeutic 'colouring in' - all the rage as we know, at the moment ..

Beautiful You

To be honest there's no right or wrong way to do this - you don't even have to keep inside the lines if you don't want to and can opt to paint/colour as much or as little as you see fit!. Mine was definitely the 'very little' variety!

Once I was happy and had finished my 'painting',   well,  a few strokes of the brush, really!   I die-cut it with one of the small ovals from the 'Stitched Shapes' Framelits, and used a slightly larger frame from the Layering Ovals Framelits as a mount.

Both of these pieces I sponged for a bit of dimension,  deliberately mounting them together so the  bottom edges matched up.

Beautiful You

I  finished my card topper with some toning Very Vanilla seam binding , a big bow and some bling!  Popped up the stamped image on Stampin' dimensionals, and added a sentiment at the top left of the card to balance it all.

Beautiful You

I finished off the card with some of my beloved, but sadly long since retired, boo hoo!,  toning seam binding,  but the current Satin Ribbon would work just as well.

What do you all think?  - it was very simple, came together very quickly but think it all works and if nothing else, it  got me opening that Beautiful stamp set...

Spring/summer Catalogue launch

hello all

have been sitting on these for what seems like weeks - well being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator means we get to play with lovely new product items before they go on sale  but today means the wait is over as I am now able  to finally share with you the new seasonal catalogue with all its exciting product suites and go together sets.

Even the front page is awe-inspiring with its blues and green colourways /suggestions for assembling the 'Vertical Garden' Kit - just one of the items in the Succulent Garden suite

As I see it - it is  how to get green fingered but with no potting compost involved or the need to be out of doors ! a definite plus in my book - interested ?

You have everything  to choose from in the new catalogue,  from Birthdays, to Valentines, Babies to Anniversaries, Easter to Holiday moments, Thank yous to Celebrations, the great outdoors  and  gardens,  Father's day, Mothers day, Wedding day and  everything else in between.

for example - the fabulous  Cupcakes & Carousels Suite :

Just a glorious set of items which for me perfectly sum up a taste of a vintage summer holidays spent at the beach where rides on the Ferris wheel and Carousel were all part of a sun filled day.. Beautifully matched embellishments, paper packs, card stock, stamps and dies all help to bring back such lovely childhood memories!

... and as always with Stampin' Up! everything is geared up to complete product suites where stamp sets, designer series papers, embellishments, dies and framelits all  help you , safe in the knowledge that items in the same suite will all co-ordinate, all complement and all go together perfectly.

..and of course not forgetting the scrapbookers amongst us - Project Life have brought us another fabulous accessory Pack with their 'Celebrate every Day' set .

and continuing with their ever popular Project Kits - How about the 'Birthday Bright' set.  As always there is a suggested additional 'Birthday Bright' stamp set  which perfectly supplements the project kit.

And you even get a cute storage box to go with - how nice is that !

and with lots of 'You can Make it' samples,  show pieced throughout the catalogue you are never short of inspiration either.

and of course with Christmas and New year just behind us - what are the shops now filled with ? Valentines day cards and gifts.. and of course Stampin' Up! are already there for us.

Lots of ideas and samples using their 'Sending Love' suite of items - a fabulous go to set based round the traditional Red and White you always think of for a Valentine heart - however big or small  - either in size, or number!  Take a look at this beautiful stack of papers.

a generous pack of 48 sheets of  6" x 6" papers - all very much red and white!

they have thought of it all with great card and gift ideas to make, send, or just to share.. and of course you cannot go wrong with 'Real Red' card stock - that just has to be the basis of anything 'Valentine' in my view

 - and whether its one heart or a set in a row.?  Little love notes to really tactile wood heart shaped embellishments - I think Stampin' Up! truly have thought of everything for us!

another little taster here maybe ?

well,  will finish my quick dip in to the new catalogue with perhaps my most favourite set of all

a stunning set of stamps to celebrate you, me, us!

It's called 'Beautiful You' and its a set of stylish,  lovingly,  artist drawn stamps,  that just go so so well with the  phrased sentiments in the set.

and to get your creative juices flowing - how about these for a few samples in use

well will close  here - copies should already be in the post to my lovely customers - but if you haven't received yours and would like one - just click the link on the side bar to the right and will get one off to you in the post.

til next time and
happy choosing
