well I was asked - it is a card, is it an envelope - so am thinking am not really sure!
Its a piece of card stock -folded double and with a flip over extension to act like the flap of an envelope - all enclosing a greeting inside.
I opted to use some of my own ribbon to secure the tops, but you could just as easily make a toning belly band.
What do you think - card or envelope? - en-ve-card or card-a-lope?
Personally I think I prefer the sound of the latter!
I used a base of Very Vanilla for the pink card and Whisper white for the the blue one
with the stamped images matted on a layer of Melon Mambo and Midnight Muse cardstock, respectively.
The 'girly' pink one was easily created with the Create a Cupcake stamp set with the addition of some little stamped hearts. For the blue one this is a right mix and for the present stack I chose one of the stamps previously long since retired but now happily available in the 'Best of Shelli' - August stamp set. (All these sets are available though til March next year).
I also had a go at hand colouring with my Stampin Up write markers and really like the overall effect this gave me.
I used the same heart as I did on the other card and the addition of a stamped sentiment completed the look.
Things I used to make these cards:
Stamp set: Pink card - Create a cupcake, any stamped heart,
Blue Card - although mine are no longer available - you could use the equivalent in the 'Best of Shelli' for the present stack, and any suitable sentiment
Inks : Melon Mambo, Smoky slate, Blushing Bride, Midnight Muse, toning Stampin Up markers
Cardstock and paper: Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Melon Mambo, Midnight Muse
